Working here
The City of London is an Investors in People organisation.
Employees benefit from a wide range of staff discounts on services
and leisure activities within the City, a childcare voucher scheme,
a family advice service, as well as the local authority pension
scheme.
We provide an Occupational Health Service to provide advice on
the effects of work on health and health on work. Learning and
development is a high priority, with a range of in-house courses -
as well as external training - on offer.
There are also many sports and leisure activities organised by
employees, ranging from the wine academy to the karate club. The
City of London has clearly defined policies and procedures, set out
in an employee handbook which allows staff to know what is expected
of them.
Equal opportunities
The City of London is committed to equal
opportunities and welcomes job applications from all sections
of the community.
We aim to ensure that all job applicants and employees receive
fair treatment regardless of age, sex, sexual
orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origins, colour, creed,
disability, marital status, trade union or political
beliefs.
We aim to recruit, retain and develop the best people based
solely on their abilities to perform the job. The City of London
has achieved level 3 of the Equality Standard for Local
Government and is currently working towards achieving the
requirements of level 4.
